The house is fully heated, but for that warm and cozy feeling, there is an upright wood-burning fireplace and lots of wood available just outside the door. It is located at Au Sable Acres in Jay, New York near the heart of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. The chalet is only 15 minutes from the Olympic White Face Mountain for summer hiking, winter skiing and a gondola ride summer and winter; 25 minutes from Lake Placid village for great shopping and dining; 35 minutes from Mt Von Hovenburg for bobsledding, cross-country skiing and hiking; and 45 minutes from Mt Marcy, the highest peak in the region with great hiking trails.  The Au Sable River, just minutes away, is one of the best trout-fishing streams in the East.
